Master's in "Medieval and Renaissance Studies" (MaRS)
Welcome to the website of the interdisciplinary Master's program "Medieval and Renaissance Studies" at Albert-Ludwig University, Freiburg. More than 10 departments from 5 faculties participate in this Master's program, which is organized by the Centre for Medieval Studies.
The two-year program is designed for students from Germany and abroad whose undergraduate degree included an emphasis on medieval and/or Renaissance studies. Students can continue to pursue their previous academic specialization at one of the best universities and in one of the most beautiful regions of Germany, while at the same time becoming acquainted with and putting into practice methods and theories of related disciplines. In addition to this, they will benefit from the inclusion of a practice-oriented module in the program, which will further enhance their qualification for occupations both in and beyond university.
